Frequently asked questions

What does Hypnosis Feel Like?

Hypnosis is a natural state that we enter into frequently and naturally. Driving for hours and letting your mind wander, being immersed in a movie, or being completely engaged in a passionate hobby are all examples of being in a hypnotic state. And while hypnosis can feel deeply relaxing, hypnosis itself is not sleep. Most clients equate hypnotherapy as having a conversation while wonderfully, deeply relaxed. Throughout the session, you’ll be driving the vehicle and I’ll simply help you navigate.

Does Hypnotherapy Work?

Almost everyone can benefit from hypnotherapy, so long as they are passionate about their goal, whatever it may be. Thomas Edison, Tiger Woods, Albert Einstein, Ellen Degeneres, and Adele are a few influential figures who have used hypnosis for innovation, athletic precision, creativity and smoking cessation, respectively.

Why Is Hypnotherapy different than just positive thinking?

While positive thinking can create gratitude, it is often unable to create lasting change because you are still operating from your conscious mind, which has lots of reasons and excuses that can get in your way. By contrast, when in a relaxed, theta-brain wave state during Hypnotherapy, you are able to access the subconscious part of your mind, which is where your habits, beliefs, world views, intuition, experiences and creativity originate. From this place, you can safely heal and transform these areas and create lasting change at the subconscious level.

What about swinging watches and clucking chickens?

While those are humorous and entertaining elements in Hollywood movies and on cruise ships, there is none of that in true hypnotherapy. Hypnosis is based in science and utilizing the Theta brain wave state, which as humans we enter into regularly.
